Calculators for financial advisers

Goal funding, compounding and debt reduction are the arithmetic behind most first conversations, and a prospective client will do that arithmetic somewhere.

These calculators let them do it on your site, with your branding, and without the platform storing a single figure they enter.

How it works in practice

  1. Step 1

A prospective client models a goal — a deposit, a target balance, a debt paid off — on your website.

  2. Step 2

They see not just the answer but the sensitivity: what an extra hundred dollars a month, or an extra two years, does to it.

  3. Step 3

The call to action takes them to your practice at a destination you control.

  4. Step 4

You see engagement — views, starts, calculations, click-throughs — with no visitor amounts stored, which is the part clients ask about.

What is and is not recorded when somebody uses a calculator

Goals and compounding

Two savings calculators, solved for the two different unknowns: how much to save to hit a date, and how long a current contribution takes. The compound interest calculator separates contributions from growth, which makes the argument for starting early visible instead of rhetorical.

Debt reduction

The non-linearity is the finding worth showing: a modest increase in repayment cuts the term by much more than proportionally, and the effect is strongest at high rates. That is more persuasive demonstrated than described.

Cash, offset and the tax on returns

An offset account against a mortgage returns the loan rate with no tax on the benefit, which beats a term deposit at the same headline rate for anyone paying tax. Both calculators are here so the comparison can be made rather than asserted.

  • Offset account calculator

Estimates what holding a balance in a full offset account saves in interest, and how much sooner the loan closes if repayments stay the same.

  • Term deposit calculator

Works out the interest and maturity value on a term deposit, with interest reinvested or paid out at maturity.

  • Compound interest calculator

Shows how a balance grows over time with regular deposits and compounding interest.

Income and tax interaction

Annualising income quoted at different frequencies, and the tax on the result. The fortnightly-to-annual conversion in particular is one people get wrong by about eight percent.

  • Income annualisation calculator

Converts pay quoted hourly, weekly, fortnightly, monthly or quarterly to a yearly figure.

  • Income tax calculator

Works out income tax and the Medicare levy on a resident individual’s taxable income, using the statutory rate scale for the income year you choose.

  • Negative gearing calculator

Works out what an investment property costs after tax, by comparing tax on your income with and without the property’s rental loss.

What you can see, and what nobody can

For each calculator you embed, the dashboard reports widget sessions, calculator starts, completed calculations, call-to-action views and call-to-action clicks. Those are counts of what happened, tracked against an anonymous identifier that lasts for the visit and is never joined to a person.

What is never recorded is what anybody typed. Loan amounts, salaries, property values, deposits, tax results — none of it is sent anywhere or stored anywhere. That is enforced by the architecture rather than by policy, and a release-blocking test fails if a financial field could ever reach the events table.

A “session” is an anonymous identifier for one visit, and it is not a unique person. Two visits from the same browser are two sessions.

The full privacy position

The enquiry goes to you

The call to action on a calculator is a destination you configure: a page on your own site, a phone number, or an email address. When somebody clicks it, they go there.

Nothing is collected here. There is no enquiry form on this platform, no lead database, and no third party in between — which also means no visitor’s financial details are ever in a system you did not choose.

Exactly what the handoff supports

Next

An adviser’s visitors are exploring rather than transacting, and the useful output is sensitivity — how much the answer moves when an input does. The privacy position also matters more here than elsewhere, because the questions are personal.
